Cookies Policy

1. Introduction

Talents is operated by Daniel Osagie. This policy explains the cookies, browser storage and caching used by Talents, and how you can manage them. Contact us at info@talentsft.co.uk.

Talents uses storage for sign-in, security, preferences and app functionality. It also sends diagnostic information to Sentry, as described below.

2. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small values your browser stores and sends with relevant web requests. Local storage and IndexedDB can keep information between visits. Session storage normally lasts for the current tab session. A service-worker cache stores copies of pages and assets. These technologies have different purposes and lifetimes.

3. How We Use Cookies and Local Storage

Sign-in and Security

The talents_session cookie lets the server check your sign-in. It is HttpOnly, so page scripts cannot read it, and uses Secure in production and SameSite=Lax. With Remember Me, it is set to last for 14 days. Without Remember Me, it is a browser session cookie whose authentication validity is limited to two days. Browser session restoration can preserve a session cookie after closing the browser. Signing out clears this cookie.

Firebase Authentication also uses persistent browser storage for sign-in information, including when Remember Me is not selected. The server session still controls access to authenticated requests. Use Sign out when you finish on a shared device.

Preferences and Navigation

• Local storage remembers theme choice (themeMode), sidebar layout, whether dashboard amounts are hidden, tutorial completion and support-prompt timing. These values can remain until you or the app clears or replaces them.
• Session storage remembers the active ledger, onboarding and invitation context, and temporary interface or update state. These values normally end with the tab session.

Public Pages and Assets

The production web app uses a service worker to cache public pages and assets for loading and offline fallback. Its cache persists until it is replaced, cleared or removed by the browser. Private financial pages are fetched from the network rather than stored as offline pages by that service worker. This does not provide full offline access to your financial records.

We do not use cookies for behavioural advertising.

We also do not sell cookie-derived personal data to advertisers.

4. Third-Party Services

Firebase supports sign-in, including Google sign-in when chosen. Stripe provides the hosted payment page when you make a purchase. These services may use their own cookies or storage for authentication, payment processing and fraud prevention.

Sentry collects error reports, logs and navigation/performance diagnostics. Reports may include IP addresses, browser/device information and request context. Diagnostic collection currently runs when pages load; there is no in-app diagnostic consent or opt-out control. It is separate from the cookie used to sign in. Account-linked support reminder preferences and interaction records are stored in Firestore rather than browser storage, as described in the Privacy Policy. The reminder switch controls automatic prompts; it does not disable Sentry or recording of manually initiated support interactions.

5. Managing Cookies

You can control cookies through browser settings, including blocking or deleting stored cookies.

• Blocking essential cookies may break login and core features
• Clearing site data can remove stored sign-in information, preferences and cached pages
• Clearing browser storage does not delete your account or server-held financial records

If you block essential cookies, parts of Talents may stop working correctly.

6. Data Retention

The sign-in cookie, Firebase browser storage, preferences and caches have the lifetimes described above. Provider-held diagnostic and payment records are separate from browser storage. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle personal information.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookies Policy from time to time. Updates are posted on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date.
